Wigan man who made death threat to parent spared jail

The incident caused Sullivan's elderly dad to fear for his life, Wigan justices heard.

They imposed a four-month prison term but suspended it for 12 months.

Sullivan was also hit with a restraining order preventing him from contacting his parents or entering Delph Street for a year.

He must also observe a night-time curfew until November 9 and complete 20 days’ rehabilitation activities.

The chair of the bench told Sullivan: “You caused serious distress to your parents and this had a significant impact upon them.”
