Wigan motorist almost three times the drink-drive limit banned from the road

Maciej Waliuk, 33, of Scholefield Lane in Scholes, admitted to having 100 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath when he was stopped by police.

The legal limit, by contrast, is just 35.

Officers pulled Waliuk over in his Ford Focus on New Miles Lane in Shevington on June 6, Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court heard.

The bench disqualified him from driving for two years.

Waliuk was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £180 towards victim services and court costs.
