Wigan police question young person after reports of burglary at Subway branch

Police in Wigan have interviewed and bailed a young person following reports of two burglaries in the same village.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police responded to reports in the early hours of today (Saturday, January 2) that a burglary had taken place at the Subway sandwich store in School Lane, Standish. The call also reported a similar incident at a nearby residential address.

One youth was taken into custody and quizzed by police officers in connection with the incident. The person was later bailed, pending further enquiries

A spokesperson for the force said: “In the early hours of Saturday 2nd January 2021 Police responded to calls in relation to a burglary at Subway and a nearby residential address, both in Standish.

“Officers attended the area and arrested 1 youth who has since been interviewed by officers and released on bail pending further investigation.”
