Wigan police seize drugs and car during busy night
Police have seized drugs and a car in a busy night across Wigan.
As part of Operation Bluefin, neighbourhood officers sighted a car acting suspiciously in Woodcock Drive, Platt Bridge, last night (March 12).
They seized the vehicle as suspected stolen and a quantity of cannabis was recovered from the car.
Officers also attended Coupland Road, Hindley Green, where they stopped two men and carried out a drug search.
In a post on Facebook, officers from GMP's Leigh, Atherton and Hindley division, said: "One male proved a positive search and was dealt with accordingly."
Meanwhile, police attended several burglaries overnight on Friday (March 12) on the Garton Drive Estate, Lowton. Officer pursued a vehicle which had been stolen after seeing it being driven off the estate, but it was lost in Garswood.
Officers will be investigating to see if there is any CCTV evidence of the offenders or any vehicles.
Anyone with information should use the online reporting tool on Greater Manchester Police's website and quote Incident 110 12/03/21.
Operation Bluefin was launched earlier this month and is a joint operation between Wigan police and the council to tackle concerns over anti-social behaviour in the borough.
It will see officers work alongside local authority teams to provide increased public reassurance and tackle the problem in the areas of most concern.
