Police are reminding drivers not to leave items in their cars after a rise in the number of break-ins.

GMP Wigan West said: “We have had a heightened number of theft from motor vehicles in the Winstanley and Hawley Hall area. Please do not leave valuables in your car. Be security conscious and remain vigilant when parking and do not leave anything valuable in their vehicle."
