Wigan teen in court accused of assault and smashing train window

A Wigan teen faces accusations of assaulting a man and smashing the window of a train at Hindley station.

Joshua Cadman, of Grasmere Avenue in Hindley, appeared at Wigan Magistrates’ Court this week charged with one count of assault by beating and one count of criminal damage.

Cadman stands accused of destroying a glass window in a train driver’s door to the value of £653.

Prosecutors have also brought charges against him for assaulting Andrew Reeves on the same day, May 3 2018.

Following the incident, British Transport Police released an appeal for witnesses.

Officers reported that a man damaged the train driver’s window with a baseball bat after an altercation broke out with a member of staff.
