A woman has denied attacking four police officers and a paramedic.

Kelly Robinson, 41, of Worcester Avenue, Hindley, appeared before Wigan magistrates accused with assaulting five emergency workers by beating plus threatening behaviour - all on September 11 last year.

She is charged with attacking paramedic Susan Bullock and police constables Fenny, Ryan, Canavan and Taylor.

Robinson pleaded not guilty to all six charges and the case was adjourned until August 12 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

A Wigan man’s “dirty protest” in a police cell has cost him dear.

Ian Aspinall, 34, of Viscount Road, Marsh Green, appeared before Wigan magistrates to admit to smearing faeces on a cell door, intercom and sink while in custody at Wigan Police Station.

The bench gave him a conditional discharge and ordered that he pay Greater Manchester Police £500 in compensation for the clean-up and damage caused.

A Wigan teenager has been accused of molesting a woman at a hotel in Derby.

Hedi Shariyatzada, 18, of Laburnum Street, Ashton, appeared before borough magistrates to face a charge of sexually touching a female over 16 without her consent.

It is alleged the incident happened at the Hallmark Hotel in Derby on January 17.

He was remanded on bail pending a first appearance between Southern Derbyshire magistrates on July 6.

A man has denied threatening to kill a woman and then repeatedly contacting her after a court had forbidden him from doing so.

Daniel Kelly, 29, of Atherton Road, Hindley, appeared before Wigan and Leigh magistrates to plead not guilty to charges of threatening to kill both Lauren and Alan Roberts on December 29 last year.

He is further alleged that he then four times ignored a Manchester and Salford magistrates order, made on November 5, not to contact Ms Roberts. It is claimed these happened on December 29 and on January 2, 10 and 28.

Kelly is further charged with aiming threatening and abusive language at a Pc Ball on April 14.

He denied all the charges against him and the bench remanded him in custody pending another appearance before them on May 19.

A Wigan man who was abusive to supermarket staff and damaged fixtures at the store has been sent to prison.

Warren Anderton, 46, whose address was given as Golborne RC Church, appeared before borough magistrates to admit to the criminal damage of a bin and door at Leigh Asda and acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards employees there.

The bench told him that he was getting an immediate six-week jailed sentence “because the offence was aggravated by being committed whilst on bail, because your behaviour was intimidating and threatening to staff members doing no more than their jobs.

“In short your conduct was appalling and your record shows that you continue to repeat this anti-social behaviour on a regular and frequent basis. You have also offended whilst subject to post sentence supervision and it is clear from the probation report that you have treated their staff with the same disregard as you treat the general public.”

Anderton was ordered to pay £128 towards victim services.

A man has been accused of being more than double the drink-drive limit.

Wigan and Leigh magistrates heard it alleged that Christopher Beard, 29, of Sandalwood Drive, Wigan, was stopped in a Vauxhall Insignia by police on Kay Close, Scholes, on May 5 and that when breathalysed he gave a reading of 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Beard has yet to plead and, due to the Covid-19 restrictions the bench adjourned the case to at least August

19.
