Woman suffers injuries during assault in white transit van

A woman suffered minor injuries during an assault that took place in a van.

Police said that a woman in a white transit van was assaulted on Gadbrook Grove, Atherton.

The victim attended hospital the following day and was treated for minor injuries.

Officers are only now coming forward with an appeal after the incident on Saturday, February 22 at 9.15pm.

Police are appealing for information

Officers said on social media: "Police are appealing for information after a female was assaulted in Atherton.

"Officers were called on Saturday, February 22 at 9.15pm to a report of an incident involving a white transit van where a female in the vehicle was assaulted on Gadbrook Grove, Atherton.

"The female attended hospital the following day and received treatment for minor injuries.

"Police are currently investigating the incident and on further enquiries have established that a member of the public approached the victim in offer of support and stated he witnessed the incident however did not leave his details.

"Officers are appealing for this witness to come forward and ask if anyone else who may have witnessed the incident."
