A MAN who died when he was crushed by a forklift truck has been named as Christopher Morris.

The 40-year-old, from Wigan, was killed after becoming trapped underneath the vehicle at the Kirkless Industrial Estate on Cale Lane, New Springs, on Friday morning.

All three emergency services attended the scene at 10.45am, as fire crews attempted to lift the truck from Mr Morris using hydraulic equipment.

However, Mr Morris, whose full address has not been revealed, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are assisting the Health and Safety Executive in an investigation into the cause of the incident.
