PART of the M6 was sealed off after a minor crash on the M6, causing a backlog of traffic.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near the entrance sliproad to junction 27 at Standish at around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

They found two vehicles had collided just north of the junction, with one car suffering heavy damage to the front.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) attended as a 63-year-old woman was feeling sick, but no-one was taken to hospital and there were no major injuries.

The inside lane was closed while the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder, causing slow-moving traffic and tailbacks through the borough.
