Delays due to accident

MOTORISTS were stuck in major queues on the motorway following a minor collision.

The incident, involving two cars, happened around 7.30am on Monday near junction 25, Ashton, on the M6, southbound.

One lane remains closed due to debris on the carriageway, causing queues from the junction, to junction 27, in Standish.

No-one was injured.

Drivers are warned to be extra careful due to heavy rain and extra surface water.

A few hours early, around 6am, a woman was driving her car, with a baby on board, on the M6, southbound, and lost control near junction 23, at Haydock. No-one was injured and the carriageway was soon cleared.
