A SECOND new store has opened in the Galleries.

Popular gift store Past Times has joined the shopping centre on Hope Street in the former Shoe Zone unit.

Past Times collections are inspired by past years and historical designs, from the elegance of Art Deco to the timeless beauty of Celtic crafts to the fabulous fun of the 50s.

The company started in 1986 and now have more than 100 stores throughout the UK and Ireland.

It follows the addition of photography store Microdot which is based next door.

Richard Paxton, centre director of The Galleries, said: “It’s terrific that Past Times have expanded into Wigan, shoppers seem to be flocking into this fantastic store.

“We also offer a warm welcome to Microdot and urge our shoppers to take advantage of this great opportunity for a family portrait, ideal for a wonderful Christmas gift.”

Past Times are today hosting a special 50 per cent off sale on items.

The two new stores add to the recent opening of The Personal Touch who opened in the former Diamonds and Pearls unit on Hope Street.

Catch have also opened within the centre in Tyldesley Arcade, in the former Royal Perfumery kiosk, offering a selection of ladies designer Italian linen clothing, Noir of London costume jewellery and new launch fragrances.

Mrs Christmas has also recently opened in two units within Marketgate shopping centre.
