Detectives investigate sexual assault of 15-year-old girl in Wigan

The 15-year-old was wearing her school uniform when she was attacked near Ashton Library at around 3.20pm on Monday.

He was wearing a dark coloured shift with the cuffs and three buttons undone with dirty blue jeans.

He was described as a white man with blue bloodshot eyes and short blond hair.

PC Fiona MacKey, of Greater Manchester Police's Wigan borough, said: “This was obviously a terrifying attack on a young girl in the middle of the afternoon and we are doing all we can to find the man responsible.

“The victim has been incredibly brave and we are continuing to support her and her family through this ordeal.

“I want to assure the community that we have increased patrols in the area with local area officers and PCSOs conducting high visibility patrols.

“If you recognise the man in the e-fit or have any information that could assist our enquiries then please get in touch as soon as you can.”
