PATIENTS in Wigan may still see “a small level of disruption” tomorrow although planned strike action has been called off.

Wigan Infirmary bosses said operations which had been cancelled due to the NHS workers’ industrial action cannot be rescheduled at short notice.

But the Trust’s services will be otherwise functioning as normal, they added.

Staff including nurses, midwives and ambulance workers were set to be part of a 12-hour strike action on Thursday over a pay dispute with the Government.

But unions are now considering a fresh offer from the Department of Health.
