A DROWNED dog has been found in Wigan woodland.
The white and tan pet, believed to be a Jack Russell, was discovered in Borsdane Woods, in Aspull, on Monday.
It is thought the dog drowned in the floods which hit the borough on Boxing Day.
The canine was quickly taken to the vet to check if it was chipped and if an owner could be traced.
The heavy rainfall caused havoc and misery in several parts of the borough, with homes evacuated in Bickershaw, Platt Bridge and Aspull.
As a massive clean-up operation took place, members of the community rallied round, volunteering their time and donating furniture to replace damaged items.
