SCHOOLCHILDREN have hailed their hometown’s history in a fun-filled enrichment day focussing on Wigan.
Youngsters at St Catharine’s Primary in Scholes celebrated the best of the borough with an array of activities.
Classes were able to sing with the George Formby Society, experience a mining environment, cook a batch of pies and learn about Roman Wigan to name but a few of the activities involved.
School Business Manager Joanne Birkett said: “It was a lovely day and all of the children enjoyed it.
“We hold an enrichment day each term and this has been by far one of the best. They loved every single minute of it.
“The children all joined in singing with the George Formby group and each class swapped sessions throughout the day - it was fab.”
