Emergency services rush to Wigan street after car smashes into house
The Mercedes car hit the terraced property on Enfield Street, in Pemberton, shortly before 9.25am on Sunday.
Emergency services rushed to the street and the 78-year-old man driving the car was taken to Wigan Infirmary for precautionary checks.

Hide AdWhile there was one person in the house at the time, fortunately they were upstairs and escaped unharmed.


Enfield Street was closed for some time while the vehicle was recovered and so a building inspector could check the house.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly before 9.25am this morning, three fire engines from Wigan and Hindley fire stations, alongside the technical rescue unit from Leigh, were called to an incident near Enfield Street, Wigan.”
“Crews arrived quickly to the incident, which involved a vehicle which had collided with a residential property. Firefighters worked quickly to make the area safe, before departing after approximately an hour and a half at the scene.”
A police spokesman said no arrests were made.
