Emergency services called to collision in Wigan

The incident occurred in Scholefield Lane, Scholes, shortly before 3.45pm this afternoon (Thursday, May 14). Eyewitnesses have described seeing at least 20-30 police officers at the scene.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 3.45pm on Thursday 14 May 2020, police were called to a report of a collision on Scholefield Lane. Officers are in attendance."

Hide AdThe North West Ambulance has confirmed it was also called to the scene and is still in attendance. An air ambulance was also called to the scene.
No details of injuries, the types of vehicles involved or how many, have yet been confirmed.
A local resident, who asked not to be named, described a large presence of emergency services in the area.
"We didn't see what happened but we are seeing aftermath. No cars are currently coming down the street. The police are all around," the resident said.
"We’ve seen about 20-30 police officers in the area. We saw there was an air ambulance as well."
