Family escapes unhurt as chip pan catches fire at Wigan home
A mother escaped unharmed with her child and dog after a fire broke out in their home.

Firefighters rushed to Eckersley Street in Wigan at 7.40pm on Thursday to tackle the blaze in the kitchen.
The family had safely got out of the house before the fire crews arrived.
The blaze involved a chip pan which had accidentally caught light.
The kitchen was badly damaged in the fire and there was heat and smoke damage to the rest of the property.
