
The driver of the Renault Megane had to be cut free from the car after it flipped on its side on a stretch of the road.
Technical rescue teams from Wigan and Leigh fire stations were called out to the incident at around 3:30pm this afternoon, where they had to cut through the roof of the car in order to free the woman, who was stuck in the footwell of the car.
The woman was stretchered to hospital to receive treatment for minor cuts and bruises.
The father in the passenger seat was able to free himself and was unharmed.
