AROUND 40 firefighters worked throughout the night to contain a massive blaze at a Golborne Industrial Estate.
Two engines from Leigh Fire Service were called to Seddon Foods, on the Millingford Industrial Estate, just before 5pm yesterday.
They called for back up, with crews from Wigan, Hindley and Atherton all attending the fire, which gutted the building at the estate just off Bridge Street.
Crews worked late into the night to put the fire out, cutting away the front roller shutter door to gain access before using long ladders and a hydraulic platform to fight the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.
Hoses were then used to damp down the site and prevent the blaze re-starting, a process which carried on throughout the night.
Crews managed to prevent theen fire spreading to any neighbouring units, and there were no injuries.
The building, a storage and delivery unit for frozen foods, sustained heavy damage, with the roof being burnt through and two of the floors collapsing.
