A FUNDING shortfall could push borough hospital’s ‘backwards,’ says Wigan’s MP.

New figures on the spending settlement for the NHS have prompted fears that patients across Wigan, Makerfield and Leigh will start to see local health services deteriorating.

Lisa Nandy said: “Cuts to health funding are not what people expected when David Cameron promised to protect the NHS, and this shortfall in funding will add pressure on our local health service.”

“He made the NHS his most personal pledge, but it now stands as his biggest broken promise and with health services already under strain, this cut to funding could send the NHS backwards.”
