DETECTIVES have released CCTV images showing the terrifying moment six armed raiders burst into a convenience store.

The gang struck at a McColl’s shop on Lyndhurst in Skelmersdale brandishing knives at around 11pm.

The men, who were all wearing dark clothing with hoods and had their faces covered, pushed one shop assistant to the floor and stole a safe, cash from the till and some cigarettes before escaping on foot.

PC Martin Hulme said: “It’s been more than three months since the robbery and although we have followed up a number of enquiries, we are yet to identify the people responsible for this crime.

“We are committed to bringing whoever is responsible to justice; if anybody can identify the men captured on CCTV I would urge them to contact police.”

The raid took place on June 13.

One of the offenders is described as wearing a black jacket with a logo on the chest and sleeve, as well as a pair of gloves.

Witnesses can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
