PENSIONERS were given a lesson in Twitter by school pupils as part of World Book Day.
Children from Holy Family Catholic Primary School visited residents of Belong Wigan, in Platt Bridge, to teach them how to tweet, direct message and hashtag.
The educational session was part of a book conversation which can be found on Twitter @belongvillages #belongbigbookconvo
Bosses at Belong invited people to follow the conversation on Twitter to find out what books and authors are popular among the older generation.
Tweeters were also able to find out what young readers from the local area were currently enjoying, and suggest their own titles.
Belong Wigan general manager Gill Menguy said: “At Belong Villages we believe that you are never too old to learn something new, and so we thought we’d take on the challenge of Twitter.
“Older people have a wealth of knowledge about books and reading, which we think is worth sharing with local younger readers and the world.”
