WIGAN pensioners have been given a new lease of life after a new garden was opened at their current residence.
Westleigh Lodge Nursing Home recently unveiled the area which is aimed to give residents a brighter place to enjoy during the summer months.
The area was funded by healthcare management company and generous donations from relatives. Staff also completed a sponsored walk to raise funds.
Now, new facilities have ensured easy access to the garden area.
Relief manager, Andrew Bradley-Gibbons, said: “Residents and their relatives are really enjoying it.
“Everyone at Westleigh Lodge would like to thank HC-One and relatives for our new garden, it’s really great and quickly becoming one of the favourite areas of both residents and their relatives. We are really pleased with it.
“In the short period that we have been able to use it, residents have already made the most it, especially the new seating area which has been very popular with this lovely weather.”
