Head-on collision on major Wigan road
Two drivers were in a head-on collision last night, closing a major Wigan road.
At around 9pm emergency services were called to a crash on Atherton Road in Hindley Green between a BMW and a Renault.
The cars had collided head-on, and paramedics attended to treat a woman for shoulder and neck injuries and a man was also checked over. It is believed that all injuries were minor.
Firefighters and police also attended and the road was closed for around half an hour while the casualties were checked over and the cars removed.
Police are now investigating the incident.
