These days, choices are never ending with hundreds of pieces of equipment and machines to choose from.

There is, however, no point in having all this choice if people don’t know how to use equipment and machines properly. Many humorous videos end up on social media of gym goers attempting to use equipment for the amusement of others and three-in-ten people who have used equipment in the past have admitted they have done so wrongly.

Some of the most common machines and equipment that people misuse or stay away from include medicine balls, cable machines and rowing machines.

Medicine Balls:

These seem to provide people with more entertainment than actual help. Medicine balls are known as the most misused piece of equipment as people don’t know how to correctly position their bodies allowing for muscle development and resistance. However, they can be great for improving strength, explosive power and speed.

Cable Machine:The problem here lies within people’s technique and lack of knowledge. People often see this machine and walk straight past, even though it can help work out the whole body, especially triceps, back and knee muscles.

Rowing Machine:It sounds simple, but a poor technique can leave users getting less from their workouts. Most people fail due to poor technique, with many struggling to coordinate their upper and lower body movements simultaneously. However, by rowing your body back as far as possible and bringing the cord into your chest rhythmically, users can get a fuller lower-body workout that works the glutes, quadriceps, and the upper front of the thighs.
