A LEADING heart charity is urging people in Wigan to go red in February, which is National Heart Month, to help raise vital funds to fight the UK’s biggest killer.
Bosses at The British Heart Foundation (BHF) say it is not too early to start thinking about how you can go Red for Heart by ordering for your free fund-raising kit.
2011 is an extra special year for the BHF as it’s the charity’s 50th birthday.
Barbara Dunn, BHF Fund-raising Manager for Lancashire, said: “We are excited about seeing Wigan going Red for Heart this February, and we are avidly anticipating seeing the UK turn red for their loved ones on Friday, February 25 - National Wear Red Day.
“Everyone can get involved with the campaign so please encourage your colleagues or friends to take part and help the BHF make a real difference. As long as it is red anything goes.”
All the money raised by Lancashire going Red for Heart will help the BHF save lives through pioneering research, patient care and campaigning for change. Order your free Red for HeartFundraising Kit by visiting bhf.org.uk/red or calling 0845 241 0976.
