AN investigation has been launched into the start of a fire which left a man in hospital with burns to his hands, legs and feet.
Crews from Atherton and Leigh were called to a house in Green Avenue in Astley at 2.45am on Saturday.
They found one of the front bedrooms to be well alight and a 52-year-old man had self-evacuated with burns to his hands, feet and thigh.
Paramedics also attended and took him to Salford Royal Hospital. It’s believed that there was nobody else inside at the time.
Watch manager Lewis Cross said: “There’ll now be an investigation into the cause of the fire.
