FORMER JJB Sports chief executive Chris Ronnie is facing further investigation by fraud officers despite having already started a jail sentence.
The Serious Fraud Office has started a confiscation order against the 52-year-old and could call for a “criminal lifestyle” order.
This would give them powers to investigate Ronnie’s financial dealings six years from the date he was charged.
Last month Ronnie was convicted of three counts of fraud relating to six-figure payments from companies doing business with JJB.
The court heard he accepted more than £1m in backhanders.
He was subsequently sentenced to four years in custody and has been banned from being director of a company for eight years.
Judge Nicholas Loraine-Smith said Ronnie had conducted a “very greedy” act of fraud.
