WIGAN actress Lucy Gaskell has married her long-term love at Haigh Hall.
The Cutting It star, and now successful stage and screen actress, not to mention former St Peter’s High School student, wed Casualty actor Mark Bonnar at Wigan register office before holding a humanist ceremony at the historic hall.
Lucy, 26, and Mark, 39, married on December 28.
Around 200 guests, their close family and friends attended the bash, which carried on until the small hours.
The couple, who already live together in London, jetted off on a long honeymoon tour, starting with a trip to America after the reception and are also planning to visit Fiji and Australia.
Among the guests was Lucy’s close friend from their schooldays at St Peter’s, Georgia Taylor, another of Wigan’s famous acting exports.
She is currently starring in Casualty – the BBC flagship drama in which Mark became well-known playing nurse Bruno Jenkins.
The couple held their ceremony on the impressive staircase at Haigh Hall, but they tied the knot legally the previous afternoon at the register office.
They met in 2003 in a touring stage production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard.
Lucy, whose career started with a bang in popular BBC hair salon series Cutting It, has had numerous starring roles since.
She has appeared in Where The Heart Is, Waking The Dead and a host of stage plays.
Most recently she took the lead role in Irish historical drama The Big House at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin.
