A WIGAN stroke survivor has raised more than £500 for charity using her new found talent for card making.

Lynne Tindall, of Wigan, suffered a stroke in 2005 and has spent the last two years volunteering for Think Ahead Stroke Group.

Lynne said: “The support I received from groups like Think Ahead has been tremendous and I am delighted to be able to give something back to the local community”.

Throughout the three months leading up to Christmas, Lynne and her daughter Prudence, crafted unique greetings cards and wine glass charms. With the support of Wigan businesses such as Sherringtons Coffee Shop, in Hindley, the pair sold the creations, generating a sum of £513 for stroke support charity, Think Ahead.

Mike Aspinall, chairman of Think Ahead, said: “We are grateful to Lynne for the time she volunteers with us and are delighted that Lynne and her daughter chose to raise money for our local stroke charity.”
