Man, 35, charged with fraud, robbery and theft offences

A LEIGH man is due to appear at crown court in relation to a number of fraud and robbery offences.

Joey O’Rourke, of South Avenue, Leigh, was charged with two counts of robbery offences in addition to fraud and theft offences, Greater Manchester Police said.

The 35-year-old is due before Liverpool Crown Court on July 8.

Between May and June of this year a number of people were approached in Leigh town centre by a man asking for money so he could travel to the Warrington area, a force spokesman added.
