Man charged with Ian’s murder

A MAN has been charged with the murder of Ian Sudworth, who was stabbed in Wigan.

Jonathan Charles Marron, 21, of Stranraer Road, Marsh Green, hung his head in shame as he sat in the dock at Wigan Magistrates’ Court today.

He was charged with the fatal stabbing of Mr Sudworth, 24, of Beech Hill, which occurred on Saturday at 4am.

He was also charged with actual bodily harm against 18-year-old Gemma Smith, on the same date.

He was remanded in custody until tomorrow when he will appear at Liverpool Crown Court for a bail application hearing.

The preliminary hearing date has been set for December 13.
