Man denies assaulting woman at mum's home

A man has denied punching and throwing his mobile phone at a woman and breaking the terms of a restraining order against him by going to her mother's house.

Paul Fisher, from Atherton, pleaded not guilty to breaching a restraining order and assault at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecuting, Risha Seth told the court the crown alleged Fisher, of St John Street, entered the house on Elgin Close at around 6pm on June 24.

The prosecution claim he was aggressive and then assaulted the victim.

However, the court also heard Fisher, 43, completely denied ever going to the address or committing any of the actions claimed.

Defending, Martin Jones said he would not be applying for bail and Fisher was remanded in custody.

He will next appear in court via video link on July 4 before a trial on August 8.
