Man fighting for life following smash between scooter and car in Wigan

Police were called to Poolstock Lane at arond 6.30pm on Saturday (July 18) to reports of a collision between a petrol scooter and a silver Ford Galaxy.
A 53-year-old man – who had been riding the scooter – was taken to hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

Hide AdThe driver of the Galaxy remained at the scene to speak with officers.
Nobody has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
Police are now appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
Police Constable Neil Pennington, of Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man is currently fighting for his life in hospital after yesterday’s collision and our thoughts are very much with him and his family as he receives treatment.
“We’re working hard to piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident and are asking any witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.
