Man hands himself into police

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault outside a Wigan nightclub.

At around 6.40am on Saturday (October 19), a 26-year-old man was near to Bamboogy on King Street, when the offender approached and punched him.

The victim was knocked to the ground and taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured eye socket and two haematomas to the brain and he remains in a stable condition.

Yesterday (Tuesday), a 21 year-old man presented himself at Wigan police station and was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or who has any information about what happened.
