POLICE are investigating after the driver and passengers of a car that ploughed into two parked vehicles fled the scene.
The incident happened at around 2.40pm on Saturday when a Lexus crashed into two stationary vehicles on the junction of Durham Street and Platt Lane in Whelley.
Police say they are now looking for a number of people who were in the car and fled after the crash. One 20-year-old man later found nearby is currently in hospital with “severe” hand injuries.
It’s also believed that offices are also working on the theory that the crash happened after the driver saw a police car on patrol nearby,
A GMP spokesman said: “We were called at 3.40pm to reports that a Lexus had collided with two parked cars, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Nissan.
“Nobody was inside the vehicle at the time but a 20-year-old man was located nearby with severe hand injuries.
