ROBBERS punched a man in the stomach several times during a raid on a Wigan petrol station.

Three men forced their way through the front door of the BP garage on Warrington Road in Goose Green and one of them hit the employee before taking money from the tills and a large haul of cigarettes.

The other two waited before the three offenders drove off in the direction of Marus Bridge in a silver or grey car.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say one offender wore a forensic-type white paper suit with a hood, one a light blue hooded top with the hood up and grey tracksuit bottom and the third wore all black.

The incident occurred at around 1.20am on Friday April 18.

Anyone with information should call GMP on 0161 856 7259 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
