Man stabbed to death

THREE men have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in Wigan.

The 24-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was stabbed in Scot Lane, Marsh Green, shortly after 4am on Saturday.

An argument between a group of people took place and the victim was stabbed.

Paramedics who were at the scene were unable to revive him and he died at the scene.

A 21-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Shenton, senior investigating officer, said: “We are in the early stages of the inquiry and want to ascertain exactly what has happened. We urge anyone with any information to call the police.”
