POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was left with a fractured jaw in Wigan.
At around 10.05pm on Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was on Baucher Road, Worsley Mesnes when he was approached by a group of men.
They attacked him and left him with a fractured jaw and arm.
Detective Inspector Martin Reddington based at Wigan Police Station said: “At this stage we do not have any indication why the male was attacked and we are trying to find out the reason behind it.
“The victim has not been able to give a description of the offenders so we are relying on members of the public who may have seen what happened to come forward. The sheer violence of the attack has left this man with serious injuries and in a lot of pain.
“If you were in or around the area at the time and believe you may have witnessed the incident, please contact police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
