Men accused of Wood murder

Kevin Derbyshire, of Findlay Street, and Dwayne Turner, of Railway Road, both in Leigh, are alleged to have murdered Edward Wood.

Mr Wood, 50, was found seriously injured in Railway Road shortly before midnight on May 4 and died in hospital an hour later.

It is alleged that he had been kicked and punched.

Derbyshire, 32, and Turner, 28, who appeared via video link from Forest Bank Prison, spoke just to confirm their identities.

They were both further remanded in custody until July 22 when they are expected to enter their pleas.

A trial date was fixed to begin on October 31.
