MOTORISTS travelling out of Wigan were caught in long queues after three vehicles collided on the slip road of a service station on the M6.

Two cars and a lorry were involved in the accident on the access road to Charnock Richard services coming off the northbound carriageway at around 12.30pm.

Lancashire Police and ambulance crews attended the scene but there were no reports of any injuries.

The motorway was able to remain open, but local radio stations reported long delays, with slow-moving traffic extending right back to junction 27 at Standish.
