Two women, aged 38 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of murder soon afterwards and later bailed until September 12 pending further inquiries. And today police revealed that the 46-year-old man too has been been released on bail to the same date.

Officers are still awaiting the results of further tests to determine whether or not the injuries sustained in the altercation are linked to the man’s death.

Anyone with details about the Sunday July 17 incident are asked to ring CID on 0161 856 7292 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
