A MAN arrested following a machete attack has been eliminated by police following insufficient evidence.
The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault after a 20-year-old man was injured by the knife in Waterside Drive, near the Pier, on August 30.
He was bailed until October 26 pending further police inquiries, but as the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) cited there was not enough evidence, no further action was taken.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was treated for injuries to his back, which required stitches.
He was released the same day.
However he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary was also bailed until October 26 pending further inquiries.
He was also eliminated due to lack of evidence.
