'No suspicious circumstances' as police find man dead at house

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man in the borough following reports of concerns for his welfare.

Paramedics were called to Elliott Street in Tyldesley shortly before 6pm on Sunday evening. They called the police to attend shortly after arriving at the scene.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called by colleagues from NWAS to a report of a concern for the welfare of a man on Elliott Street in Tyldesley just before 6pm on Sunday, January 10.

"Sadly, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
