GREATER Manchester Police have been carrying out a day of action to crackdown on wanted offenders.
Today (Tuesday) officers from across GMP’s 11 divisions have been targeting wanted offenders with support from specialist operations officers. The individuals being targeted are some of each divisions most wanted offenders as part of Operation Olympus.
Divisions have been assisted on the day by specialist units such as tactical aid, ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) intercept teams and the dog and mounted units.
Chief Inspector Chris Hill of Greater Manchester Police said: “Op Olympus is a force wide operation which is all about targeting those criminals who continue to cause harm and fear within our communities despite already being wanted by police.
“Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our communities and I want to assure everybody that during this day of action there will be nowhere to hide for the individuals that we are seeking.”
