COMMENT - A nuisance

FEW things are more aggravating in the modern world than the constant deluge of text message advertising and cold calling.

It is incredibly irritating to be alerted to the arrival of a message, only to open it and find out you have been involved in an accident of which you have no memory or mis-sold payment protection insurance without actually taking out any of the financial products to which it is attached.

It is clear there is widespread public annoyance at this nuisance behaviour, and a proper, Government-directed crackdown against it is frankly well overdue.
