WITH the ongoing speculation surrounding Everton and Roberto Martinez it is easy to forget that Wigan Athletic’s future needs sorting out as well.
As it stands Wigan Athletic have no manager, have lost numerous players including first team regulars such as Alcaraz and Figueroa, and have no summer friendly fixtures confirmed.
The players are due back in pre-season training in six weeks ahead of a 46-game Championship season coupled with the domestic cups and at least six games in the Europa League.
It is time Martinez was forgotten about and the condition of Wigan Athletic is put to the front of people’s minds. While it is important to get the right man to lead Wigan Athletic back to the Premier League, it does need sorting so that the squad can be rebuilt and a proper pre-season training programme can be worked out.
The season ahead will be long and hard and the Latics will need to add to the squad to cope with such a busy schedule.
