THERE seems to be the increasing threat of a national postal strike over the Government’s confirmation that it is to privatise the Royal Mail.
Wigan postmen and women, clearly, are not being swayed by the Coalition’s sweetener of hundreds of pounds worth of free shares in the new organisation.
And their union now seems more than likely to approve a ballot for industrial action set to take place in September.
This has long appeared to be a ‘privatisation too far’ for many industry watchers.
Let us hope for a compromise.
